If you have visited Copenhagen recently, you might have noticed a tasty trend: Danes have become obsessed with bread. It seems like everybody who’s anybody in the culinary scene of the city is opening their own artisanal bakery.

Case in point, Mirabelle, run by Christian Puglisi. The former Noma chef is the man behind super-successful restaurant Relæ in Nørrebro, and he has been breaching out this past year. His bakery is located on the wonderfully quiet end of trendy Guldbergsgade, and it’s the perfect place to come for breakfast, lunch, or just to hang out.

We love the tiled floors, the colorful enamel cups on the shelves and of course the bread that’s served here. Everything is baked in-house and definitely worth a try. Have some croissants filled with cheese and ham, go for a Danish (ha!) or try a few slices of pizza. Pizza? Yes!

Mirabelle is housed in the same building as Puglisi’s new restaurant, Bæst. A pizza joint that lets him focus on his Italian roots while still focusing on what made him such a sought-after chef: quality ingredients, local produce and tons of passion.

The pizza dough is baked at Mirabelle’s, and so it’s only fair that the bakers get to sell some slices, too. Try the pizza topped with homemade mortadella, it’s simply amazing!
