When in Geneva, make sure to pay a visit to Mamco, the museum for modern and contemporary art in the Bains district. It’s situated in an old factory building, its permanent exhibitions spread out over several floors. What’s on display changes, but is always worth your time.
There are multi-media works, installations and classic paintings and drawings, as well as some big installations from artists like Gordon Matta-Clark, Maurizio Nannucci and Christo. What you see here is a highly curated overview of what’s happening in the art world today and in the past decades, and it’s beautifully laid out.
